What's in a Name

Over the weekend, I was organizing my desk - when it comes to keeping things in order I am totally hopeless.
While I was going through my things, I came across my brainstorming sheet for titles for the Biocide Conspiracy.

Originally I called it Waste of Space. I thought it was a good title for a several reasons. First of all the story is set in Australia’s Great Sandy Desert. Secondly the debris from the International Space Station in actual fact was waste from space, and thirdly because Mo’s fault-finding step-father repeatedly tells him he is a waste of space.

All the time I was working on the story this was the title I had in mind but I wasn’t completely in love with it. My editor suggested changing it because the book is a warning about the threat of germ warfare. I spent a great deal of time trying to come with a more fitting name, finally settling on The Biocide Conspiracy.

What do you think? Do you think I made the right decision?
