Unlike me who married early and spent my teenage years bringing up three children, Gary was a student during the social revolution of the nineteen sixties and seventies' Vietnam War years, travelling widely in those years. He studied literature, politics and law. He trained as a lawyer and later became a law professor; he worked mainly in criminal and civil litigation and specialized in criminology and in aviation through various postgraduate work and completed his Ph.D. in that area. He pursued a career in Australia, Switzerland, and in Hong Kong, writing a couple of dozen law-related academic and educational books, especially in the fields of aviation and criminal litigation and dozens of academic articles. But it is his fiction that interests me.
I loved BEGINNINGS the first book in a series of seven about time travel spanning the ages. Set mainly in the Basque country of Spain and France, an ancient cycle of murder and revenge returns to haunt a young woman in the mid-20th century who seeks to find a new life for herself only to realize there is no escaping the past.
