This has been a particularly busy couple of weeks. It always is when I have a new book coming out. However, last Sunday I attended the thirtieth anniversary of the closure of Perth's historic afternoon newspaper the Daily News, launched in 1882 Losing advertising to television and coupled with the decline in commuters on public transport the afternoon paper found it difficult to survive. It closed on the 21st of September 1990. I worked on the paper for four years and was devastated by it's demise. Still am. But swapping treasured memories with my former colleagues brought back a very special time in my life and helped me lay a ghost.
